When Ife reached out to me on Instagram, I was immediately drawn to her warm personality and her vision for her wedding day. She shared her story about traveling all the way from Canada to marry her love, Jeremiah, in the beautiful town of Stirling, Scotland. It was clear from our first conversation that this was going to be a wedding to remember.
Ife and Jeremiah had planned a small, intimate wedding with close friends and family. They chose Clackmannanshire Council for their ceremony however, Ife had one major concern: the Scottish winter. With the ceremony scheduled for later in the afternoon, daylight would be fleeting. She wanted stunning photos that captured the essence of their day before the sun set.
Pre-Ceremony Preparations
On the morning of the wedding, Ife was getting ready in a cozy Airbnb, surrounded by close friend and family. Her makeup artist started early to ensure she had plenty of time for portraits before the ceremony. Once her makeup was done, Ife and Jeremiah dressed in their traditional Nigerian attire—a stunning mix of vibrant colors and intricate details that reflected their Yoruba culture.
As soon as they were ready, I suggested a pre-ceremony photoshoot at Stirling Castle, just a short distance from their Airbnb. The castle, perched high above the town, provided a dramatic and romantic backdrop for their portraits. Despite the chilly weather, Ife and Jeremiah’s joy and love radiated in every shot. The vibrant hues of their traditional outfits stood out beautifully against the wintry landscape, creating a breathtaking contrast.
The Ceremony
After our session at Stirling Castle, we made our way for an outfit change at the Airbnb and the straight to the City Chambers for the legal ceremony. The intimate setting was filled with heartfelt moments as the couple exchanged vows in front of their closest loved ones.
A Day to Remember
As a Nigerian wedding photographer capturing love stories in Scotland, there’s nothing more fulfilling than preserving a couple’s unique journey in a way that resonates deeply with them. When I delivered Ife and Jeremiah’s photos, their reactions were priceless. Ife told me how much she loved the way the images turned out, and Jeremiah echoed her sentiments.
It’s moments like these that remind me why I love what I do. I feel so honored to have been a part of Ife and Jeremiah’s special day and to have helped preserve these memories for them to cherish forever.
To Ife and Jeremiah: Thank you for trusting me to capture your beautiful wedding. I wish you both a lifetime of love, happiness, and adventure together.
